Background
Welcome Home Furniture Rental & Staging boasts one of the largest collections of furniture inventory in the business, filling a 21,000 sq. ft. warehouse in Concord, California. They cater exclusively to the staging and real estate industries, helping maximize values for everyone involved.
Problem
With such a large warehouse (furniture takes up quite a bit of space) and a smaller staff than is typical for such a warehouse, Welcome Home needed a system to control their inventory. They tried three different software providers, all of which lasted six months or less.
Solution
In 2015, Welcome Home’s search for software that worked ended. Within five days, according to co-owner Tanya Dari, they knew they’d be successful with Point of Rental’s Expert product.
Result
As with all programs, the most important thing is that it’s easy to work with – that’s what allows teams to input accurate information, which leads to accurate data down the road. Their initial on-site training had Dari and the Welcome Home team feeling better than they had with all their other software options.
“Implementation was easy,” said Dari. “It was easy to learn. You guys give us the tools to be successful.”
Welcome Home has since added Dispatch, Mobile Workforce and eSign as the company moves toward a paperless environment. It’s allowed them to reduce paper waste and has helped produce clear communications between their office, warehouse, and delivery teams.
That’s resulted in happier customers, because they’re getting the furniture they requested, when they want it – every time.
“[Point of Rental has] streamlined our business. We know exactly what we have in stock, we’re able to provide good customer service … We’re not wasting our time anymore because our inventory is actually correct,” said Dari. “It saves us money at the end of the day.”
