More than 200 rental experts left the Dallas-Fort Worth area on Nov. 7 with dozens of ideas for adding to their business’s efficiency, thanks to Point of Rental’s International Conference.
Designed for Point of Rental users to network with rental professionals from throughout the world, the International Conference provides software education, one-on-one training, and allows users to participate in small-group sessions that help guide the future of the software.
The sold-out 2018 edition of the conference delivered all that and more.
“Every year, the conference seems to get better as we identify areas for improvement and new ideas to implement,” said Point of Rental CEO Wayne Harris. “We’re also fortunate to work with so many partners who sponsor the conference, providing additional expertise and allowing us to keep registration costs low for attendees.”
This year, the conference featured a keynote speaker (Ruth Bloom) and executive sessions by industry experts and new Pointers Josh Nickell (formerly of Nickell Rentals) and Kristy Myrick (formerly of Hilton). These joined a full slate of software-based training designed to provide attendees the knowledge they’d need to train employees in their stores.
“Point of Rental is moving forward at a fairly fast pace,” said Richard Wharmby of Expedition Rentals in Edmonton. “I find that with each of the sessions that I go to, I get a little bit more knowledge that helps my business run smoothly.”
“You’re going to find one or two things that you can bring back and implement in your business that are going to save you money, help you make sales faster, and be more successful,” added Elite Events & Rentals’ Brandon Ahlgren.
But it wasn’t all about the classes. Evenings allowed attendees and Point of Rental staff to mingle socially in fun environments at Ft. Worth’s Wild Acre Brewery and Pete’s Piano Bar. With 200+ rental leaders gathered in one location for three days, attendees were able to gain useful knowledge from anyone they met.
“I like the networking – getting to hear other people’s issues, successes, and the things that they do differently than I do – things that maybe I can implement that would help my business grow,” Mac Whittlesey of Ideal Rent-All said.
“I’ve been to the conference three times, and I come back every year to learn about the software, the updates that [Point of Rental is] implementing, and to network with industry peers,” Nazli Rahman of Bravo Location Rentals said.
To close the conference, attendees joined Point of Rental staff in a tour of the company’s Grand Prairie headquarters for lunch and for small-group work sessions with new products.
“I like being able to see where [the software] is going, and what’s next,” said Paul Vellano of Vellano Shoring. “I think a lot of the classes have helped me get some hints on how to utilize the software better, and bring back that information to our people.”
The 2019 International Conference is in the early planning stages, but will be staged in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. For more information and to take advantage of the early bird rate, visit conference.www.point-of-rental.com.
